Event Productions & Public Relations and produces, coordinates and provides public relations for corporate events, annual fundraising galas, golf tournaments, team building corporate events, silent auctions for nonprofits to a major sports memorabilia auction held at Dodger Stadium. She’s the founder/producer of the White Satin Wedding Show, co-founder/co-producer of The Artisan Faire, and founder/producer of the Cherry Blossom Festival, held in downtown Los Angeles for 10 years with 60,000 attendees and a 100% volunteer team as well as founder/producer of “CampStories” and “Six Weddings”. Within the entertainment field, Wendy worked on the nationally aired American Comedy Awards for 14 years as the Assistant Event Coordinator. She has received many awards, including the prestigious International Gala and Esprit Awards as well as the State of California Legislative Women In Business Award from State Senator Jack Scott and Assembly members Paul Krekorian and Anthony Portantino. Wendy currently serves as the Vice-Chair Member Services – Board of the Directors Pasadena Chamber of Commerce; Member of Pasadena Rotary and the International Festival & Events Association (IFEA). Business Writer In addition to more than 20 years as a professional grant writer and curriculum developer, La Quetta has produced or co-produced more than 50 events, including health conferences workshops for entrepreneurs and business owners and regional jazz and cultural events. Her experience with fund-raising events and media relations is extensive. She was hired by American Friends Service Committee to produce the Greater Los Angeles presentation of “Eyes Wide Open” a touring war memorial held in five cities over an eight-day period in March 2005. Her nonprofit career includes serving as the financial administrator for he second largest HIV/AIDS outpatient clinic in Los Angeles County. She was contracted to conduct the first programmatic review of First 5 LA,’s largest single contract, a $584M, five-year agreement with Los Angeles Universal Preschool. She has served on numerous grant review panels and also designed, authored and coordinated RFP’s/RFA’s to award government-funded grants for dental services and job training services. Her first book is a 200 page “how to”, The Grantbuilder™: Step-by-Step Guide to Grantwriting Workbook is the first official publication of The Center for Grantwriting, which she founded to provide training workshops, resources and a support network for professional grantwriters. As founder and executive director of the Instrumental Women™ Project (IWP), she established the “Lady Jazz Concert Series,” the longest running annual summer concert production on the west coast featuring an all-female roster of professional jazz instrumentalists. IWP continues to provide performance oppor-tunities for women jazz musicians by sponsoring Lady Jazz™ Ensembles for nonprofit fundraisers.
